Cart Layouts
Four-Wheel, Non-Tilt,
Conventional
(2 swivel/2 rigid). Easily
turned or pushed in a straight line. This is the most popular type
of cart.
Four-Wheel, Diamond Pattern (4 rigid). Tilt-type, turns on
center wheel. Cart used for light loads. Is often the least
expensive set-up.
Four-Wheel, Diamond Pattern
(2 swivel, 2 rigid). Easy to maneuver.
Usually tilt type but can be mounted level. Unstable for use on
ramps.
Four-Wheel, Non-Tilt
(4 Swivel). Can move in any direction. Good
for confined areas. Swivel locks recommended for straight-line
steering
Six-Wheel, Tilt or Non-Tilt
Recommended for heavy loads and extra-long
trucks for support or weight. Permits turning within own length.
Wagon
(5th-Wheel Steering). For very heavy loads.
Wheels only are mounted to large axles.
