Cisco-Eagle wins
1999 Arkansas Quality Achievement Award
OCTOBER
1999: The fifth annual awards celebration for the
Arkansas Quality Award was held October 28 at the Little Rock Statehouse
Convention
Center. Governor Mike Huckabee hosted the
major awards ceremony, which was attended by 500 business and civic leaders from
throughout the state of Arkansas. In its second year of
formal competition, Cisco-Eagle received the Quality
Achievement Award.
Governor Huckabee recognized a number of organizations
during the ceremony, from the top-tier Governor's Quality
Award to the Quality Interest Award. Cisco-Eagle won
the Quality Achievement Award, which is the second
highest honor. Each organization received written
feedback citing its strengths and areas that need to be
improved over the coming year. The program's goal is to
encourage as many Arkansas organizations as possible to
engage in continuous quality improvement and to provide
significant recognition at its awards celebration for
organizations that commit to quality.

Humanity for ReStore Project
SEPTEMBER
1999: The Industrial Distribution Program at
Texas A&M University has undertaken a class project
to study the logistics of Habitat for Humanity
ReStore operations, and Cisco-Eagle is glad to be a part.
Habitat ReStore has requested students examine
"deconstruction" of facilities. Deconstruction
falls under Reverse Logistics, a topic of tremendous
significance to conservation efforts.
The project is an
exceptional educational opportunity for the students. It
involves over 130 students and industry experts in
logistics. Besides Cisco-Eagle, IBMs warehouse
consulting group, Warren Electric Group, Cameron Ashley,
Ryder Integrated Logistics, and Prelude Systems are
involved.
The objectives are to
deliver a cutting-edge applied educational experience for
the students, and assist Habitat ReStores growth efforts.
