Halogen Incandescent - provides a crisp, white light with a more focused beam. The light is dimmable and provides approximately 10-30 lumens/Watt. Initial cost is high and light gets very hot, but is an energy efficient light source.

High Pressure Sodium - one of the most efficient light sources available, providing up to 100 lumens/Watt. Sodium lights have low operating temperatures and have less glare but do put a slight yellow cast to perceived colors.

LED - very energy efficient, have long lives, and generate very little heat during operation. Initial cost can be very expensive and you cannot use a dimmer with these, but the energy savings and long life cycle can greatly offset purchase costs. LED light does not diffuse well, but provides very high lumens/Watt
