Compressed gas cylinder tanks have great potential for injury and death. Should a tank get tipped over and the regulator neck get snapped or cracked, there is enough pressure within the tank to create a dangerous situation where the tank will be propelled by the escaping gas. This sets up the potential for employees to get injured or killed and for damage to equipment and building structures.
Cylinders should always be secured whether being used or not. The best security is wire mesh storage cages when cylinders are not being used. When in use, being secured to a cart, wall bracket, hand truck or dolly is the best way to assure your facility is safe from the havoc a cracked tank can create.
Be safe. Keep ALL compressed gas cylinder tanks secured from accidental tipping and rolling.
