About Sleeve Insert Free Standing Jib Cranes |
|
![]() |
With a sleeve insert free standing jib
crane, it is necessary to provide sufficient reinforced foundation
such that the sleeve is securely embedded into the concrete and that
the structural strength of the foundation is sufficient to
counterbalance the weight of the crane itself plus the load of the
hoist, trolley, and materials being moved. It is recommended that a foundation from 3 ft deep by 4 ft square to 5 ft. deep by 11 ft. square (depending on load capacity of crane) be poured at time of install so that the sleeve can be embedded into the foundation properly. This will ensure that the jib crane will not tip once load is applied, and that the crane will be in service for many years without the risk of the flooring around it being impacted with load stresses. |
