Conventional flow track and carton flow is suitable for many applications, but for tasks requiring a higher capacity, more flexibility, and better rollability, consider heavy duty racks that use genuine Hytrol skatewheel conveyors in place of carton flow lanes. It provides a single “shelf” of skatewheel flow. Anything you can convey on skatewheels, you can flow on this rack. Shelf adjustment is tool-free—just pop out the beams and move them as desired, no tools needed. With a maximum of 6 lanes per shelf level, a skatewheel rack assembles faster and easier than a conventional flow rack.

Heavy duty racks are especially popular in the automotive manufacturing industry, and manufacturing in general. The difference: gravity flow rails vs. skatewheel conveyor

Skatewheel conveyor flow

Heavy-Duty Gravity Flow Racks utilize full-strength gravity skatewheel conveyor sections rather than conventional carton flow rails.
Skatewheels are steel, and have ball bearings for easier rolling and durability.
Faster assembly with wide conveyor sections.
Stored items may be placed anywhere on the shelf. If the stored product mix changes, the rack does not need to change.

Flow Rails

Plastic wheels are installed in individual flow rails.
Rails may need to be repositioned to accommodate changes in the size of the stored items.
Changing to heavier stored items may require adding more flow rails.

Dimensions

Dimension in the product name are nominal. The dimensions shown in the graphic above show the actual sizes.

Shelves

The shelves are adjustable vertically in 2" increments.

Each shelf consists of one front beam, one rear beam, and 1-6 lanes of skatewheel conveyor depending on the width of the unit.

Beams

The front beams are 5" tall, and extend above the skatewheel conveyor to act as a package stop. The rear beams are 3" tall, and sized for easy access to load the conveyor.

Uprights

The uprights have 2 15/16"w x 1 5/8"d columns that are punched with slots on 2" centers to accept the tabs on the beams.

Each column has a 2 15/16"w x 4"d x 3/8"th. footplate. The footplate has holes drilled in them to accept anchors. (Anchors not included)

The columns are tied together with horizontal and diagonal braces.

Skatewheel Conveyor

Each conveyor lane is 24" overall width with 2 1/2" x 1" powder painted steel channel frames. There are 12 skatewheels per lineal foot of depth, and the axles are located at 4" on center.

Color
