The Self Close Doors self-index, self-latch, and self-close to automatically shut doors upon release. Mechanism is concealed in the top wall, maximizing available shelf space. Fusible link holds doors open during use. In the event of a fire, fusible links will melt at 165°f (74°c) to automatically close the doors. Handle: Sure-Grip® safety cabinet models feature a flush mounted handle with gripper pad for fingertip operation. Because it doesn’t protrude, the handle prevents accidents such as bangs and dangerous “catches” from passing traffic. Gripper pad provides secure hold. Two keys included. Cabinet Details: No shelf. Approved by: FM,N,O,U. Capacity: 12 gallons. Color note: Yellow safety cabinets are most frequently used for flammable liquids.

Why yellow for flammable liquids?

Using color and labeling in your storage practices helps identify, organize and segregate liquids. It also helps fire department personnel recognize hazards when responding to fire situations. While regulatory codes do not mandate the specific color of safety cabinets, industry has customarily advocated yellow as the color for storing flammable liquid containers.

Various cabinets are designed for differing situations, and are approved or regulated by different standards and groups.

Designed to mount on top of standard 30 and 45 gallon manual or self-close cabinets, they can also be used singly as a bench top cabinet or stacked to provide additional storage. Piggyback Cabinets also lend themselves to wall mounting with the purchase of a Wall Hanger Assembly. Piggyback units cannot be used with sliding door cabinets.
