Structural Pallet Rack for high
traffic, heavy-load storage systems
Use these racks in preference to
roll-form selective racks when you are storing very heavy loads, and in
particular when the rack is frequently accessed. All pallet racks are not the
same. Construction, materials, and engineering differences really add up, even
when they are not easily seen. Steel King SK3000 pallet rack is rugged and
affordable, the best value in structural pallet racks available. It’s also a
modular system, designed with the flexibility to fit the widest variety of
applications and expand easily as your storage requirements grow.
Advantages
Hot-rolled structural channel column for greater durability and
long-lasting strength
Available in 3", 4" or 5' channel columns to meet high-capacity and
durability needs
Special column punching gives the upright adjustability every 2"
Factory welded frame construction increases impact resistance
Diagonal and horizontal braces are used throughout the entire frame...
braces are, 2"x2" and 1.5"x1.5" structural angles welded to the columns. Up
to 75% more substantial than competitive structural racks
Heavy-duty, 7-gauge footpad is welded to the column. It disperses floor
load and increases the rack’s stability
Each footpad features multiple anchor holes, facilitating installation
and re-anchoring
Tough powder-coat Precaution Blue finish for attractive, long-term use
Capacity Notes
3" uprights have 35,200 pounds capacity. 4" uprights have 51,500.
All Steel King capacities are based upon minimum steel yields, rather than the
actual average steel yield we receive. Capacities, on average, will be greater
than those stated, and will never be less than stated.
The
following conditions must be taken into consideration when calculating the
needed upright frame capacity:
Capacity is based on 48" vertical beam spacing. The greater the span,
the lower the capacity
Capacities are based on interior usage only
Capacities are for selective applications only (contact us for
assistance on pushback, flow and other uses)
Capacities are calculated for non-seismic applications
All columns/posts must be anchored to an adequate concrete floor as
required by RMI (Rack Manufacturers' Institute) code
Capacities are based on installation in a plumb condition
Capacities are per upright, assuming equal loads on both posts
If any of these conditions are not meant, contact us for assistance. If you
are unsure of any of these situations, do not assume the capacity is correct.

Upright is 48" deep X 96" tall. It has a capacity of 35,200 pounds. Column is 3" wide.
Specifications - Structural Rack
Steel King upright frame columns consist of structural channel steel
Steel thickness, especially in corner sections, enables greater
resistance to fork truck impact damage, while increasing load carrying
capacity and resistance to seismic forces
Upright frames are punched on 4" vertical centers
Beam connector clips
are specially punched to allow for vertical adjustablity in 2" increments
Diagonal and horizontal braces are used throughout the entire frame. Braces are 2" x 2" and 1.5"x1.5" structural angles, welded to the columns
Footpads are made of 7-gauge steel plates, and are welded to each column, efficiently dispersing floor loads
Each footpad features multiple anchor holes, facilitating installation and re-anchoring
Has a safety factor equaling l.92: 1
Minimum steel yields - Columns: 50,000 p.s.i.; Balance: 36,000 p.s.i.
Steel King capacities are based upon minimum steel yields, rather than the actual average steel yields.
Capacities will be greater (on average) than those stated, and will never be
less than stated
Heavy Frame Bracing
Unlike run of the mill racks, SK3000 features extra heavy horizontal and
diagonal braces at no extra charge. SK3000 upright features structural angle
bracing up to 2' x 2" x 1/4" vs. lighter duty 1/8" x 1" flat bracing used by
many rack manufactures. This helps transmit accidental impact loads to the rear
column, and withstands side impacts better, resulting in less rack damage. This
can help you reduce the cost of ownership by reducing maintenance costs and
improving operational safety. Be sure to look at steel grade, bracing, and other
important factors that can help you understand when the racks you're considering
are lighter-duty, and which can withstand the test of time.

rack project right
