Connecting Conveyor

Each section of curved skatewheel conveyor has gravity hooks and coupling bolts on both ends that can be linked together with other conveyor sections.  Each end of a curve must have a support installed underneath whereas the end of the section it is connecting to does not need a support. 

Example:  If you are connecting a 10 foot conveyor section to a 90 degree curve, the minimum number of your supports you would need is 3 (One under each end of the curve, and one underneath the far end of the 10 foot section).  This configuration however would give your 10 foot section a lower capacity than the curved section unless you placed an intermediate support under the 10 foot.

Wheels – 1-15/16 in. O.D. ball bearings run in hardened raceway with lifetime lubrication. Corrosion resistant aluminum or zinc-coated steel.

Axles – 1/4 in. dia., threaded one end with locknut. Spaced on 3 in. centers

Width

Conveyor width is measured in two ways; overall width (OAW) and between rail width.  Overall width includes the width of the frame, which is 1" on either side of the rails.  This means that the between rail width would be 2" less than the overall width of the conveyor.  Keep this in mind when determining what width of conveyor you need to meet your package requirements.

Supports

Skatewheel curve length is determined by OAW, in general, the wider a piece of conveyor is, the more length that is required to turn a corner. Curved sections should be ordered with 2 floor supports for the ends and a single center leg support for the outside edge of the curve.  The outside floor support will keep the curved conveyor from twisting and straining under the force of packages moving down the line.

Curves have a 48" outside radius on 12", 15", and 18" widths and 60"outside radius on 24" widths.

Curves have a 30" inside radius on 18" widths, a 33" inside radius on 15" widths, and a 36" inside radius on 12" and 24" widths.
