Column
Sentry column protectors are the easiest way to protect your investments in
buildings, equipment, and people. These easy-to-install
protectors act as a
bumper placed around your building's exposed interior columns. It surrounds
the column with a cushion of air, creating a "safe zone" around
the column. They're highly visible, decreasing the chances of a collision.
They are lightweight, making them easy to move, store and install.
All of the Column Sentry products are made of a low density polyethylene (LLDPE) which is stress-crack resistant. They have a wall thickness of .22" and are UL Listed as UL94 Flame Class. Column Sentry can be shipped UPS or by LTL at freight class 150.
Research demonstrates superior protective qualities
During tests conducted by Stork-Herron Testing Laboratories, an internationally recognized product testing company, Column Sentry barriers were impressive vs. knockoff brands. Tests compared the ability of the Column Sentry®, and the leading look-alike column protector, to resist impact. The tests measured the amount of force necessary to compress a 4"x6" area of the outside skin of each product to the point where it met the inside wall, where the column is protected. The tests were done on identical 12"x12" square column protectors. The results showed that the Column Sentry® withstood the equivalent of 3,971 pounds of pressure, while the look-alike withstood 2,166. This is a resistance to impact of almost double. This is extremely important to note because this resistance is what protects the building column in a collision. This resistance is why the product works. Easy to install
The column protectors are delivered with two
sides and the attaching strap. Simply
place the two sides around the column, wrap the nylon straps around the
unit, and press the hook and loop fastener to the strap.
Sizes & Styles
Column protectors are available in a number of sizes designed to fit a variety of interior columns found in most buildings. All products currently available are 24" or 33" in diameter and 42" tall, weighing approximately 65 pounds. Each individual size is oversized approximately 1/8" and has an tolerance of +/- 1/8". The following are the sizes currently available and the appropriate column it should fit.
