Lockers: A Primer

Information for school, gym, metal lockers. Guides, tips & Information

Hall lockers in a schoolBox Lockers: Allows numerous users into the smallest amount of floor space. Box Lockers are characterized by their compact dimensions. More information.

Built-In Combination Locks: A combination lock is constructed into the locker door. Available with five combination changes for security year-to-year. Master key controlled. See locks for more information.

Built-In Key Locks: The lock is constructed into the locker door. Available in flat-key or grooved-key models. See locks for more information.

Coin/Card Operated Lock: Ideal lock for public or private applications that require security with the assurance that keys will be returned. See locks for more information.

Combination Padlock: Lock that is used in the existing door handles of a locker door. Available with or without a master key. Fits box lockers, Vanguard handles, recessed handles and basket racks. See locks for more information. 

End Base: An 18-gauge steel panel designed to close the bottom of a locker with 6" legs off so that dust and debris cannot accumulate beneath. Finished the same color as the lockers.  Works in conjunction with a front base.

Front Base: An 18-gauge steel panel designed to close the bottom of a locker with 6" legs off so that dust and debris cannot accumulate beneath. Finished the same color as the lockers.  Works in conjunction with an end base.

Recess Trim: 3" recess trim bridges the gap between lockers and wall and/or soffits when the lockers are recessed into a wall. 

Slope Hood: Angled hoods designed to prevent the accumulation of debris on top of lockers.  Slope hoods fit onto a row of lockers, and can be retrofitted onto any locker. Slope hoods are shipped in 72" lengths and must be cut to length during installation. More information.

Slope Top: Angled tops designed to prevent the accumulation of debris on top of lockers. Slope Tops cover the width of one locker frame. The proper locker must be ordered to utilize slope tops. More information.

Top Fillers: Top fillers cover gaps between tops of lockers. They overlap the locker tops and can be field cut to allow for pipes, etc. There are separate designs for flat top vs. slope top or in-line vs. corner applications. More information.

Two-Person Lockers: These lockers are characterized by a vertical split of two lockers, and with two top, top box lockers. More information.

Vertical Fillers: Designed to be used in conjunction with wall angle slip joints for a solid fit and smooth finish. The slip joint conceals any raw edges left by field cutting. More information.

Zee Bases: Zee bases raise lockers without legs 4" off the floor when there is no concrete or wood base. They provide a toe space in the front and a concealed flange for floor anchoring at the rear. They're available in 72" lengths and can be cut to meet individual needs. Zee bases cannot be used on welded lockers. More information.
