Reduce the chances of injuries, worker compensation claims, product, equipment, or building damage and lost production time with inexpensive steel guard rails. Specifically engineered to protect from lift truck damage, rails are a passive protection system that guard all day, every day and help you control the flow of industrial traffic more easily. This interior protective railing system is a cost effective barrier against the effects of lift truck and other accidents.
Armor Guard Steel Guard Rail is a prefabricated, modular rail system. It is a superior solution to custom fabricated rails because it is specifically engineered for fork truck protection. Because it's prefabricated, it eliminates all on-site core drilling, cutting, welding, or painting. It's modular, expands and relocates easily as needs change.
Utilize guardrails to protect conveyors, racks, work areas, walls, meters, in-plant offices, or anywhere else in your facility that needs to separate people, inventory, equipment or areas from lift truck traffic.

Let's check an example with 48" of available space on the floor for a guardrail installation. The key thing to understand is that a 4' rail won't fit in 48" due to its large 8"x8" footplates. Here's how to calculate it:
To simplify it, take your needed coverage space, subtract 8" and use the rail size less than that. This should be accurate most every time. Your floor should be level (can be shimmed if not in most circumstances) and capable of accepting anchor bolts.
You should use the fewest posts possible in your guardrail set up—most of the time. The maximum span is 10' between posts. Installing posts closer together provides more impact resistance, but 10' is extremely strong for most applications. More posts to cover the same area will obviously be more expensive, so you have to take that into account.
You can create most any shape using Steel King posts and rails (u-shapes, corrals, etc).
Rails are available in 1' increments, up to 10'. They're built to easily swap and replace as needed.
