Anti-slip covers reduce the likelihood of costly slip falls with a coefficient of friction that surpasses OSHA safety recommendations, even when wet or oily. This 18" x 12" cover is appropriate for installation over concrete, wood, and solid metal surfaces. Install over metal grating with four saddle clips, which are sold separately (see Accessories tab). Cover is not load bearing and must be fully supported underneath.

Eye-catching safety yellow step covers improve traction, even when wet or oily.
Anti-Slip Properties
The fused alumina grit used in these step covers creates a high-traction surface with small, sharp edges that footwear can grip. While OSHA recommends a 0.5 coefficient of friction (standard measure of traction) for anti-slip surfaces, these step covers offer nearly double-- even in wet conditions.
Sizing
It is not necessary for the anti-slip surface to cover the entire step width. Leave some room at either end to accommodate irregularities in width from step to step, and to allow for seasonal expansion and contraction. Cover more depth if the steps are likely to become wet or greasy.
Installation
Use saddle clips for installing over metal grating. Each 18" x 12" step cover requires four clips, which are sold separately and available in the Accessories tab.
In some cases you may be able to secure step covers with an adhesive such as SikaFlex 252, also available in the Accessories tab.
Preferred installation method will vary depending on the step material and construction. Please refer to the installation instructions in the Documentation tab for detailed guidance.
Step Cover Options
Custom product specifications available upon request, including:
- Pre-drilled holes. Save installation time with correctly spaced fastener holes already in place.
- Other colors. In addition to several standard colors, there are many glow-in-the-dark and premium color options. See the color guide in the Documentation tab for color samples.
- Non-standard sizes. Fiberglass base covers may be fabricated up to 10' long and 15" deep, with nosing of 2", 1.5", or the standard 1".
- Different base materials. Choose stainless steel, galvanized steel, or aluminum.
- Alternate nosing styles. Use when stairs have raised or rounded leading edges.
- Additional grit grades. Grades include super coarse for extreme applications, fine for commercial and pedestrian use, or super fine, which is suitable for barefoot traffic.
- Messaging or logos. Covers may be customized with safety messages or company/organization logos, emblems, and seals.
