Keep gas cylinders strapped down for a safer operation
Compressed gas cylinder tanks have high potential for injury and death; it's a significant risk. If a tank tips over and the regulator neck snaps or cracks, there is enough pressure within the tank to create a dangerous situation where the tank will be propelled by the escaping gas.
Cylinders should always be secured -- in use, in storage, and even when supposedly dry or empty. The best security is wire mesh storage cages when cylinders are not being used. When in use, being secured to a cart, wall bracket, hand truck or dolly is the best way to assure your facility is safe from the havoc a cracked tank can create.
Be safe. Keep compressed gas cylinder tanks secured from accidental tipping and rolling.
