The forklift has been equipped with the EURIDK6264 Compact ZoneSafe unit with a single antenna and the worker is wearing a ZoneSafe transponder tag. The forklift antenna creates a 360 degree detection zone around the vehicle. If the worker enters into the forklift's zone, an audible and visual alarm triggers to alert the driver that a pedestrian is nearby -- even if the worker is around a blind corner. Once the worker leaves the detection zone the alarm ends.
The excavator has been fitted with the EURIDK6059 ZoneSafe system with two antennas for large equipment. One antenna is placed on the vehicle itself and the other is attached to the digging claw. Each antenna creates its own 360 degree detection zone that will trigger an audible and visual alarm on the control unit inside the digger's cab when either zone comes in contact with a worker wearing a transponder tag. Once the worker leaves the detection zone, the alarm will stop.
ZoneSafe utilizes advanced identification and detection technologies, audible alarms, flashing lights and management software to help increase awareness and visibility. The system utilizes RFID technology, which creates an invisible 360-degree protection & detection zone around equipped vehicles (or other assets). This can be referred to as the "collision zone". The system uses detection antennas, single/multiple zones, and variable detection ranges (3 to 9 meters). Many different configurations can be created.
The system focuses on protecting pedestrians and can also be used to protect vehicles and other fixed assets in closer proximity to a working forklift. Whether your operation is a warehouse, factory, or construction zone, or other industrial operation, the system is an efficient way to protect people from the danger of forklift collisions.
