Tripod Crane Specs
Tripod cranes are very versatile when you need great portability and ease of setup. These cranes are excellent in the field or for temporary indoor lift needs.
Tripod cranes have certain specifications that you should be aware of as you consider adding them to your operations. What follows below is a brief explanation of these key specs with illustrations where possible.
Capacity - is the tripod's total load weight limit including hoist, pulley, or block and tackle used to lift the load

Working Height - is the total height available for the lifting operation. It is measured from the ground to the supporting eyebolt below the head of the crane. The eyebolt is where you will be connecting your load or hoist and load.
Leg Length - is the overall length of the leg from the head of the tripod to the foot. The telescoping legs can be adjusted in 6 inch increments, and each leg is independently adjustable so the tripod can stand on uneven surfaces.
Leg Span - is the distance of the spread between the tips of the legs at the bottom most point. Legs can be set at any angle so long as the distance between them is within the indicated minimum to maximum range. This distance tells you how much room the tripod crane will require in use.
