In some environments - such as remote or maritime locations or settings with a lot of people or high-value equipment - every second counts during a fire evacuation. To insulate flammable liquids from heat and flames in the event of a fire, allowing the maximum amount of time for evacuation and for first responders to arrive, a 30- or 90-minute rated cabinet uses carefully designed features.

Special heat-sensitive strips that expand to fill door and frame gaps to keep out heat and flames
Steel doors with fusible links that trigger the door to automatically close when temperatures reach 122^oF
Each door has an independent cylinder lock to prevent unauthorized access
Special air vents help disburse chemical fumes but automatically close when temperatures reach 158^oF to protect cabinet contents
Lip-up shelves and a bottom spill-proof containment sump prevent chemicals from leaking onto the facility floor
These cabinets are FM approved and EN compliant; they also meet NFPA 30, NFPA1, and OSHA standards as well as the U.S. Coast Guard's SOLAS-5 guidelines for marine vessels
