Standard guardrail features 4" horizontal beams constructed of schedule 40 steel and 2-1/2" vertical posts of schedule 80 steel. Heavy duty guardrail uses 6" beams made from schedule 40 steel and 4" schedule 80 steel posts. Both types feature polyethylene anti-static sleeves that give your guardrail a smooth look and will never chip, rust, or need to be painted.
