Model TA belt conveyor, or slider belt conveyor, is one of the most commonly used belt conveyors in use. This industry standard is used in manufacturing plants, warehouse & distribution centers, and practically anywhere that product needs to be moved quickly and easily between two or more points. The simple design and wide variety of options available make the TA extremely versatile and easy to order, use, and maintain. The standard speed for most unit handling conveyors is 65 FPM (Feet Per Minute).  This is the average speed a person walks when carrying a 50 lb. box.  The service life of a conveyor running at a higher speed may be shortened considerably.

Select a 1 HP motor if you are moving product over the standard 65 feet per minute.

Motor Types

  • Totally Enclosed: A motor enclosure, which prevents free exchange of air between the inside and the outside of the enclosure but is not airtight. This is the standard motor on many conveyors
  • Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled: Provides for exterior cooling by means of a fan integral with the motor, but external to the enclosed parts.
  • Totally Enclosed Non-Ventilated: Has no provisions for external cooling of the enclosed parts. The motor is cooled by heat radiation from the exterior surfaces to the surrounding atmosphere.
  • Energy Efficient: Energy efficiency motors are specially designed to be more effective at converting electrical input to mechanical output.

Adjustable guard rail for conveyor

This guardrail is adjustable up to 6" above the conveying surface.  The rail is a 1-5/8" x 7/8" channel connected to an "L" bracket and bolted underneath the conveyor frame.  All connectors and hardware is included.

Width

Belt conveyor width is measured in two ways; overall width (or bed width) and belt width.  Overall width includes the width of the frame, which is 2" on either side of the belt.  This means that the belt width would be 4" less than the overall width of the conveyor.  Keep this in mind when determining what width of conveyor you need to meet your package requirements.

Length & Supports

Conveyor is available in 5 foot and 10 foot lengths for straight sections.  The length of the conveyor along with the number of supports underneath greatly determine its load capacity.  In most applications, supports should be placed in either 5 or 10 feet intervals depending on the weight of the product you are conveying.  By installing a support every 5 feet, capacity of that section increases greatly; keep in mind though that no matter how close together you place supports, the roller axles themselves also have a capacity that should not be exceeded.

Shipping

Conveyor is crated and shipped in 5ft and 10ft sections, depending on the overall length of the conveyor, and will need to be bolted together on-site.  The drive assembly, reducer, and motor will shipped attached to one of these sections.  Because these sections are unattached for shipping, the conveyor belt itself will also have to be attached onsite.  Please note that this conveyor DOES NOT include electrical components or switches.
