Store hazardous chemicals in this 2 drum capacity (55 gal.) weatherproof outdoor safety locker with explosion relief panels that is approved for close proximity to existing structures. With a 4-hour fire rating, this locker is constructed of multi-layer fire resistant gypsum walls with special explosion relief panels that quickly release at 20 psf to reduce explosive damage to contents and locker. The all welded sump is leakproof to contain drips, leaks and spills and has a capacity of 75 gallons. A galvanized steel grate floor is removable to clean out sump. This safety locker incorporates gravity air flow vents with UL listed fire dampers and fusible links to maximize safety. Explosion relief panels in the walls release when interior air pressure exceeds 20 psf to prevent dangerous explosive damages. Door automatically closes with hydraulic closure mechanism, and has UL listed keyed lockset to enhance security. Static grounding connections, anchoring plates and NFPA 704 safety decal provide additional safety measures.
Fire Ratings
Fire ratings are based on compliance with standardized product testing done by certifying agencies and are divided into distinct classes according to temperatures and how long a protected chamber can prevent temperatures inside from reaching defined levels.
Class 350: A class 350-4 Hour rated chamber must keep interior temperatures below 350o for at least 4 hours with exterior temperatures up to 2,000o. This rating sufficiently protects items with a flash point below 350o.
