OSHA Rules Relative to Conveyor Guards

• 29CFR1910.132(a): Protective equipment including protective shields and barriers shall be provided, used and maintained.
• 29CFR1910.212(a) (1): One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the area.
• OSH Act 1970 (5) (a) (1&2): Employer shall keep workplaces free from recognized hazards and must protect or guard employees from all recognized hazards that can't be eliminated.
• Note: Other specific industry standards include the rules for conveyor guards, including ANSI b20.1 which outlines requirements for protecting workers from falling items.
