Manually loading or unloading a trailer is time-consuming, backbreaking work, but Gorbel's height adjustable, self-propelled mobile conveyor systems help minimize worker fatigue and injuries while increasing productivity at shipping and receiving docks.
By reducing the lifting and other harmful repetitive movements needed to handle floor stacked cargo, ergonomic conveyor can cut load and unload times in half. Faster handling times mean lower labor requirements, fewer detention fees, and more trailers that can be serviced per dock each shift.
If you only need to unload unpalletized cargo, the Destuff-it unloading conveyor has you covered. Its belted sections transport loads for takeaway, and it features a gravity skatewheel rear section.
The Restuff-it can service both shipping and receiving docks. It has a reversible drive and a belted rear conveyor that helps move goods either into or out of the trailer.
Destuff-it and Restuff-it ergonomic conveyors are fully portable and independently powered, so workers can drive them from dock to dock— wherever they're needed— then out of the way when not in use.
Destuff-it and Restuff-it mobile conveyors integrate easily with many other types of conveyor. We can help you add it to existing conveyor or recommend a complete system for your application.
With traditional handling methods, workers must repeatedly stoop while hauling items picked or placed at floor level. They have to balance on stools to reach the top level of goods, risking fall injuries and dropped, damaged loads. All the bending, twisting, and carrying commonly results in worker fatigue, muscle strains, low throughput— and ultimately a high turnover rate for the job.
Destuff-it and Re-stuff-it position both the worker and the conveyor closer to the pick or placement point. The operator drives the powered conveyor directly into the trailer and adjusts the standing platform to an optimal height for reaching the top or bottom of the box wall. The leading segment of the conveyor tilts up and down as well as side to side as required, so the worker only needs to make a short horizontal transfer onto or off the conveyor.
Drivable ergonomic conveyor has a front sensing edge that stops the system from moving forward if it gets close to an obstruction, as well as e-stops and pressure mats for emergency shutdowns. Additional sensors ensure the conveyor doesn't run unless an operator is present, and LED lights on the front end give workers a better view of their surroundings in dark, crowded containers.
