Low Headroom Trolley Hoists
These compact hoist and trolley combinations are real space savers! The trolley has been specially designed to accomodate the curvature of the chain hoist case, allowing the hoist to ride higher than most other hoist/trolley configurations.
Additionally, both the hoist and the trolley are compact in size, leading to a very small headroom dimension and giving the user the most lift space possible below the hoist.
About Headroom
When it comes to chain hoists, there is a lot of talk about headroom - but what does that really mean?
Headroom is the space from the point on the hook where the load will be hanging to the point where the hoist, or hoist and trolley, connects with the support member the hoist hangs from.
This can often be an I-beam such as a horizontal building support or some kind of crane such as a jib crane or gantry crane.
In the illustration to the right and in the diagram above (dimension C), the headroom is seen as the space between where the trolley rides on the beam to the load point on the hook. Always remember that headroom is measured with the load chain in its uppermost position as seen here.
