Traffic Cop Conveyor

How it works

• Swinging gates control each line of conveyor
• Lanes feed main conveyor in orderly fashion
• Objects are held back until the merge lane is clear to receive more infeed
• Prevents collisions on the conveyor

As product comes into the merge lane, a controller mechanism detects whether either lane is already feeding the merge lane. If one line is moving, the mechanism locks the gate to the other line until the first gate comes back to a neutral position, which signals the second gate to open. When both gates are in a neutral position, either gate may advance product through the merge point. As soon as one gate opens, though, the other gate locks shut, to keep product from colliding on the conveyor.
