In facilities where pedestrians and forklift drivers cross paths, blind corners around racks or other structures pose a particular hazard. To help prevent collisions and injuries, this infrared sensor detects motion in a range of 20' to 25' in two directions. When it senses movement on both sides of the corner, it uses a flashing light and audible alarm to alert drivers and pedestrians of oncoming traffic. It's self-powered using three D-cell batteries (included), and integrated magnets snap it securely onto rack uprights or other metallic surfaces. Integrated mounting points allow for attachment to a non-magnetic surface. Alert systems
The audible alert and flashing LED lights are synchronized to create the most noticeable warning. They are triggered only when motion is detected on both sides of a corner, so they only activate when necessary. The LED light offers about the same visibility as a car taillight, so it will effectively attract attention. The audio alert can be adjusted between high and low, and can be turned on or off, allowing you to choose the most effective, yet non-distracting audible warning for your facility.
Mounting
The optimum installation height is between 7 and 9 feet. The V-shaped design of the back allows it to fit neatly on the corner of a rack upright, and the integrated, recessed magnet mounts provide a secure fit. An included nylon tie is recommended for additional security. Integrated mounting points are included for attaching to a non-metallic surface using screws (not included) or the included tie.
Batteries
Sensor uses three D-cell batteries, which are included. When batteries are low, an audible and visible indicator will activate; the sensor will continue to operate for a short time after the indicator is activated. Battery life will vary with usage, but batteries are estimated to last at least 12 months.
