Ductile steel wheels' high tensile and yield strength, capacity, and heat tolerance make them ideal for some of the most punishing applications. They are less brittle than cast iron and more economical than forged steel. Their ability to resist abrasion and deformation ensures a long service life, even when subjected to extreme abuse; however, they can be very damaging to flooring and should not be used on surfaces that need to be protected from chips and wear.
