A full cantilever mast jib crane is anchored to the floor and an overhead steel building support, which makes it an economical option compared with cranes that require special second pour foundations. This 10 ft. span crane, with 12 ft. overall height and 360 degree rotation, has an 8 in. H-beam mast. The boom is mounted to the mast top and offers the highest possible lifting distance compared to other mast jib cranes.

Mast style cantilever jib crane used in a sewage disposal application.
This crane design allows for powered rotation add-on with all models. It also features the following:
- I-beam construction for the boom and an H-beam is used for the mast column
- Top bearing assembly uses a self-aligning spherical bearing
- Bottom bearing assembly is comprised of a bronze bearing and bronze thrust washer
- Both bearings have grease fittings for lubricants so that rotation remains smooth and easy
- The boom is mounted level with the top of the mast to provide optimum clearance under the boom
- Any allowances for overhead obstructions must be made in the overall crane height when ordered

About the Pivot Bearings:
Bottom Pivot Bearing
The bottom pivot bearing carries most of the weight from the crane and its load as the crane rotates (see the shaded gray areas in the accompanying drawing that represent the pivot bearing).
Because of the tremendous load bearing down on this pivot point, a special bronze thrust plate sits between the two pivot bearings, providing greater bearing life and smoother rotation of the crane (the bronze thrust plate is represented by the brown shaded layer in this cross section of the pivot bearing).
As seen from the top in this next drawing, the pivot bearing consists of a sturdy steel bearing core that fits snugly within the outer section of the bearing. Because of the great load this bearing is under, a grease fitting is provided to allow lubrication of the bearing (seen in this drawing and in drawing above) so that rotation is smooth and easy and so that there is minimum wear to the pivot bearing surfaces.
Top Pivot Bearing
The pivot bearing at the top of the mast must resist side-to-side thrust as it rotates. For this reason, it is also a heavy duty bearing having very low tolerances for a snug yet smoothly rotating fit. From this drawing, you can see that the top pivot bearing lacks a bronze thrust washer or plate.
That is because there is no vertical pressure between the two outer sections of the pivot bearing, therefore, it does not need something to keep the two sections from wearing on one another.
This bearing does, however, have a grease fitting to allow lubrication of the bearing's internal surfaces.
In this final drawing we see the pivot bearing assembly as it appears from overhead. You will also note the mast pivot assembly which consists of the mast top plate that anchors to the pivot bearing assembly, providing a secure, safe connection between the pivot point and the mast.
