This crane's height is adjustable in approximately 6-inch increments, which is useful if you need more vertical lifting space under the beam or a lower overall height to clear doorways. Use a forklift or overhead hoist to lift the I-beam until locking pins can be removed from the telescoping legs. Once the desired beam height is reached, replace the pins, making sure that both legs are set at the same length and the beam is level. Never attempt to adjust the height when the crane is under load.
Gantry crane span adjustment refers to changing the spacing between leg supports, which you may need to reduce in order to move the crane down an aisle or position it between obstructions in the work area.
There are four clamps securing each leg support to the I-beam. To adjust the span, loosen the bolts that hold the clamps in place and slide each leg inward to the desired span, keeping an even beam overhang at each end.
Before using the crane, re-tighten all eight bolts securely.
Position loads in the center of the available beam span between leg supports. Do not use the cantilevered beam ends to suspend or lift loads.
