A third-party freezer storage provider needed a more efficient way to store frozen pallets in a new expansion. Steel King pushback rack replaced outdated drive-in racking, cutting forklift and rack contact and speeding up picking.
The client operates a third-party freezer storage facility, receiving, storing, and shipping pallets of frozen goods on behalf of its customers.
This was a new expansion to an existing building, giving the customer a chance to rethink how frozen pallets were stored. The facility had historically relied on drive-in rack and was looking for a more efficient solution for the new warehouse space.
Cisco-Eagle coordinated and installed Steel King pushback rack throughout the expansion. Product enters the facility by truck and is picked by a forklift operator from the dock, then placed into a specific product location within the pushback rack.
The racking layout was designed around several site-specific factors, including product flow optimization, overhead freezer unit locations, floor grade and drains, forklift tunnel aisles, and personnel egress tunnel aisles.

Pallets arrive at the facility by truck and are picked by a forklift operator directly from the dock, then placed into a specific product location within the pushback rack for storage until they ship back out to the customer.
Pushback rack lets the customer pick in a faster, safer manner by reducing forklift and rack interaction and cutting down on product movement during put-away and picking. The denser storage also makes for quicker inventory checks, giving the facility a more efficient way to manage frozen inventory in its new expansion.
