Material Handling for Energy & Oil Companies
Heavy handling systems for dies, tools, drilling components and more in storage and manufacturing

Heavy manufacturing and component handling for oil companies, chemical
plants, field services organizations, refineries and processing operations
Energy companies often need to handle very heavy loads—pipe, tubing, components, pigging equipment, dies,
tools and more— in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution processes
that are challenging for conventional equipment and services. The specific
expertise required in these operations is where Cisco-Eagle can help reduce the
issues, increase storage flexibility and maintain safety.
The challenges—and how you can cope with them
The types of products stored, ranging from very heavy dies to large
processing units aren't meant for conventional storage methods, including:
High-capacity die racks: These are built to specification, and take the
size and weight of the load, as well as loading/unloading equipment into
Crank-out, high-density cantilever racks:
These racks are ideal many heavy
assembly and storage applications. While static cantilever is perfectly fine
for many applications, in some areas, the safer, more dense storage offered
by crank-out systems is critical. These racks extend 100% of the arm's
length for complete access. That means you can load and unload them with a
hoist, balancer or other lifting equipment in a shop or assembly area.
Static cantilever racks: These racks are ubiquitous in energy sector
handling, but the correct specification and layout is critical. Is the
application indoor? Do both the arms and the supports adequately contain the
load? How are we loading or unloading it, and where does it go next?
Sheet metal storage solutions: To store heavy sheets, motors,
components, drilling apparatus and other difficult loads, accessibility and
density are key. Many companies opt to add these types of dynamic storage
racks over floor stacks, heavy static racks and other options due to the
safety and versatility they deliver.
Static sheet storage can work for many applications.
Slide or crank-out die storage racks: These racks allow you to place
thousands of pounds of heavy equipment on a single level, but have easy
access to it for hoists (or even forklifts) as the manufacturing process
moves through a work cell or task area.
Let us help you design the right solutions.
Pipe handling, machine integration, storage and movement
Pipe handling systems are a specialty for Cisco-Eagle. We help companies
design not only the right size/capacity conveyor, but all the loading,
unloading, and machine integrations that accompany it. Since pipes and tubing
are often long, heavy, bulky and unwieldy, the right handling solutions can
multiply the efficiency (and safety) of an entire operation. In our experience,
many manufacturing and processing centers suffer at their core from inadequate
pipe handling systems.
Conveying difficult loads
We also assist with conveyor systems for chemical, oily and bulk loads. With
deep roots in the oil industry, we have experience conveying drums, pallets,
heavy loads and difficult applications of all types. These types of conveyor
systems aren't typically serviced by companies with less understanding of the
processes and potential issues. We have developed very heavy handling systems in
many locations, ranging from processing centers to refineries to chemical
When the environment is demanding and the load is larger, special
considerations must be made when specifying conveyors and loading/unloading
methods. Our deep experience with these loads allows us to help you safely and
effectively transport these loads through manufacturing or processing.
Loading, unloading and ergonomic handling
When it comes to lifting, turning and moving components, methods are just as
critical as the storage systems. We have worked with many companies to improve
When it comes to manipulating components or other heavy loads, the options
aren't as limited as you might think. If you were to look at the limited range
industrial lifts, many cannot handle the long, difficult tubes, sheets,
components and other potentially difficult items that must be handled in heavier
manufacturing or processing, but custom-designed lifts can help you deal with
these issues. These lifts are built to your application needs, and can handle
extremely long, bulky, unwieldy and difficult loads. They can also be integrated
with heavy-duty conveyors, production equipment, platforms and more.
The same can be said for a broad range of cranes, hoists, balancers and other
tools used to handle these types of loads. We help companies implement safer,
better lifting solutions for extremely heavy items, but the key is integration
into process, other handling, or production equipment.
Accessibility and flexibility
The ability to access parts of a facility that are blocked by pipes, columns
or other machinery is critical. Catwalks,
mezzanines and platforms are ideal ways to achieve this. We offer indoor or
modular and reconfigurable work platforms that can be disassembled and moved
as facility needs and operations evolve. These platforms are also ideal for
assembling in a tight, difficult space where a welded solution isn't possible to
access, such as rooftops, pipe yards, cramped manufacturing spaces and similar
When you have these types of challenging, non-standard issues with heavy-duty
storage and handling, rely on Cisco-Eagle. We'll help you create exactly the
