Christine Perry is Cisco-Eagle’s Employee-Owner of the Year
Longtime account executive known for making a difference and getting the details right
You may have noticed that at Cisco-Eagle, we say “employee-owner” rather than “employee.” This is something we do with great intention as an ESOP. When we recognize our employee-owner of the year, for example, we’re recognizing someone who isn’t just a great employee, but also embodies the spirit of ownership.
For 2024-2025, that someone is Christine Perry.
About the award
Every year, everyone in the company has a chance to write a submittal describing why their nominee should be honored with this award. Then our ESOP Advisory Committee, a group of employee-owners from all levels of the company, vote on the winner. Members of senior leadership generally abstain from voting, and submissions remain anonymous at the review level to avoid any undue influence. So the award is truly peer-driven.
What are the criteria?
We encourage nominations based on criteria that reflect our ESOP values:
- Involvement in internal committees and teams
- A willingness to go beyond their expected duties
- Exceedingly good character traits
We also look for someone who promotes ownership culture, who understands our ESOP and helps others understand what it means to be employee-owned.
This year’s winner
An account executive in our Dallas office, Christine has been with us since 2003. This isn’t her first year to be nominated, but she really set herself apart this year with initiatives and activities related to ESOP education.
Christine has become one of our ESOP’s biggest cheerleaders. She’s always working to build excitement about what employee ownership can do for our company and the people who come to work here every day. She also supports and encourages other employee-owners, especially new hires, to cultivate their success.
Outside the walls of Cisco-Eagle, she attends and presents at chapter ESOP Association conferences, and she’s usually involved in the local volunteer activities we organize as a company.
If she’s your account executive, you probably know her as very thorough, and committed to communicating through the process. A Naval Academy graduate, she served in the Navy for ten years and worked on the Destroyer in weather forecasting. She’s known for not missing a single detail, and that reputation follows her both internally and with customers.
“Christine is a difference maker for our company and our customers. She exemplifies the spirit of employee ownership in the way she helps her fellow employees and actively contributes to our ESOP team. – Bryan Gauger, Cisco-Eagle President”
What her fellow employee-owners had to say
Here are some of the things her fellow employee-owners say about Christine:
- “Christine constantly works to make Cisco-Eagle a better company for all of us.”
- “She is determined and reliable and follows through with her commitments. She helps shape the big picture but doesn’t let the details slide.”
- “When no one wants to present, she presents, when no one wants to lead she leads, when no one wants to do the hard work, Christine puts her head down and gets the job done. . . . We’re lucky to have her.”
- “She is a servant leader who cares about our employees and our customers. She goes above and beyond to assist others . . . to help make our company stronger and increase our long-term shareholder value.”
- “She has helped keep our employee ownership culture vibrant and keep people engaged, energized, and excited about the ESOP and its benefits.”
- “Christine is a rising tide at Cisco-Eagle, who helps lift everyone up, and should be recognized as Employee-Owner of the year.”
Christine and her husband, John, live in McKinney, Texas.
