For this employee spotlight, we sat down with Christine Perry, Cisco-Eagle’s Employee-Owner of the Year for 2024-2025.
Christine is renowned not only for her professionalism and commitment to excellence but also for her dedication to supporting her colleagues and promoting the values of employee ownership.
Winning Employee-Owner of the Year highlights your commitment to excellence. Is there a particular moment or achievement at Cisco-Eagle you’re especially proud of?
I don’t know if I could pinpoint one specific moment, but I’m genuinely proud of how consistently I serve my customers and the value I bring to their operations. It’s rewarding to know I’m positively impacting their businesses.
If you could talk to the Christine who walked through Cisco-Eagle’s doors for the first time back in 2003, what wisdom would you share with her?
I would tell her that success in the material handling industry is definitely a long game. Patience and perseverance are key. Keep going, keep learning, and you’ll see results.
You’re known as a champion for employee ownership. What sparked your passion for ESOP culture, and what advice would you give new employee-owners about embracing ownership?
I think the Cisco-Eagle employees have been given a remarkable opportunity by Bill and Warren selling the company to us through an ESOP. I think that it’s just something that you cannot even quantify how awesome that is. They have set so many people on the path to a happy and successful retirement because of that.
For new employee-owners, I’d encourage them to view each ESOP milestone, such as becoming an ESOP participant or becoming vested, as steps on a staircase. Keep climbing one step at a time, and before you know it, you’ll have built a substantial ESOP balance for retirement.
How do you think your experience serving in the Navy has influenced your approach to your career here at Cisco-Eagle?
The Navy is a very dynamic, often chaotic environment. You’re constantly juggling multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously. That experience translates well into my work at Cisco-Eagle, especially in terms of multitasking and managing numerous responsibilities effectively.
Where do you find inspiration or clarity outside the professional world?
I really enjoy riding my Peloton bike, as it helps me reset mentally and physically. Besides exercise, I love reading, solving puzzles, and traveling. Exploring new places and experiencing everything the world has to offer is incredibly inspiring to me.
