The employee-owners of Cisco-Eagle named Mark McGeachy as our company’s 2023-2024 Employee-Owner of the Year. The award is unique because it’s bestowed by a team of employees, the ESOP Advisory Committee after a round of companywide nominations. A committee of peers—fellow employee-owners—chooses the employee of the year.
Mark joined the Cisco-Eagle Marketing team in 2005 as a web application developer.
“I hired Mark right out of high school,” said Cisco-Eagle Marketing Vice President Scott Stone. “He came in to develop online configuration applications for us, and those are still running, unique and innovative. He’s gone on to create quoting applications, back end software for CRM and ecommerce tools that have propelled us forward in the digital space. Mark is more than a developer, though. He’s got insights into processes. He has insightful ideas on how to make complex things simple for users. He knows how to connect technology to people to ways of doing things.”
Award criteria
Our selection criteria focus on teamwork, contributions and a willingness to help others.
- Participate in events and/or committees inside of Cisco-Eagle: Mark never misses company huddles and is always a strong team player.
- Go beyond what is expected of them at Cisco-Eagle: So much of what Mark has created is above and beyond what was needed, and therefore creates new avenues for employee-owners to conduct daily business and work with clients. Mark routinely works late to fix issues that might affect other employee-owners.
- Show exceedingly good character traits: Mark is a “silent warrior” who is always ready to answer the call.
- Nurture ownership culture throughout the company: Mark’s technical achievements have guided our company to a future where our communication and customer service are an industry standard.
Tireless creator
Through 2023, Mark was involved in multiple projects designed to increase customer service and upgrade CRM processes for better performance. Each stage of these intricate endeavors required a depth of knowledge and skill that only Mark possesses when it comes to developing. Through constant collaboration and a devoted effort towards improvement, Mark spearheaded these projects to their completion. Our website, internal servers and CRM can now achieve much more than ever predicted from these upgrades, and Mark is just beginning!
What his fellow employee-owners had to say
“Mark has an extraordinary work ethic, combined with an incredibly strong technical skillset that is unmatched”
From another co-worker
“It is unmistakable that he is 100% all-in for Cisco-Eagle”
And finally
“We have benefited from his contributions here at Cisco-Eagle in ways that might be taken for granted by some, as we have all become accustomed to technology at our fingertips everywhere, but most companies have full web development departments to do what Mark has done.”
“Our secret weapon”
“There are many reasons Cisco-Eagle has become an industry leader in the digital space,” Stone continued. “But one of the keystones to that success is the technical work Mark does. He’s been our secret weapon.”
