Award presents at Employee-Owned 2022 in Las Vegas
Taking place in Las Vegas last week, Employee-Owned 2022 offered educational and engagement opportunities for employee-owned businesses that attended.
EO2022 also had an awards ceremony, honoring employee-owned companies that shined in different categories. This year, Cisco-Eagle won the award for Best Printed Material! This award recognized printed materials — catalogs, mailers, identity items — that are used inside and outside company operations.
Employee-Ownership informs how we operate
The concept of employee ownership and the way an ESOP works can be mysterious or confusing to the uninitiated. Sometimes the information about ESOPs and their benefits doesn’t sink through the first overview.
Since we want all of our fellow employee-owners to have an understanding and appreciation of our ESOP, we strive to provide information regularly so that over time they can learn about the benefits of ownership, the technical details of how the ESOP works, and how their contributions affect our stock value. We also promote an inclusive ownership culture and try to help all employee-owners feel that they are an important part of our community.
Shoptalk series
Since launching in 2019, our Shoptalk series has become a focal point for showcasing our outstanding employee-owners. With Videos featuring advice from experts, to Shoptalk snippets layered in many webpages and printed items, we capture expertise and input into the everyday workings of our business.
Monthly Newsletters
The goal of our monthly newsletters to provide ESOP information that is easy to understand, and to showcase what Cisco-Eagle is doing each month(s) to celebrate our ESOP! Each one is printed and posted in the offices regarding employee ownership, ESOP happenings, upcoming holidays/events, or even just some fun ESOP facts. The newsletter has an easy-to-read single-page format, inviting employee-owners for a quick read as they pour a cup of coffee or stop by the copy machine.
Shout-Outs and Contests
We want employee-owners to not only be excited about being in an ESOP, but also about working and sharing with each other! To strengthen this we encourage shout-outs, which are “thank yous” to a fellow employee-owner for something they went above and beyond to do, whether it is work-related or not. These “shout-outs” are read aloud during our monthly financial overview and are also printed for the recipient to proudly display in their work area.
We also have contests like our annual poster contest, in which gives employee-owners a chance to showcase how they feel about having ownership in our company. After a winner is selected, each office receives a large, nicely printed, copy of the poster to display in a frame in the office.
